Birth Works certifies our doulas through personal training for at least one year.

Comfort

We provide each family with many helpful suggestions before, during and after birth. One of our doulas will meet 4-6 times before labor begins to help with ideas and strategies for labor. She will assist you in developing a birth plan o fyou choice, and she will come to your home in early labor to help with relaxation techniques and assist in getting you to the hosptal calmly and smoothly.

Confidence

The doula usually knows many of hte nurses and doctors at your hospital and will help you become comfortable there, as well as to orient the hospital staff about your birth plan. She will stay with you throughout labor, and will come to youf home after the birth to help with questions or issues regarding your recovery, breastfeeding, infant care, etc.
